- A mother of five children, (four daughters, one son) all graduated from college; happily married to a skier-professor, grandmother of 4; proud owner of 2 orange tabbies. 20+ years teaching four different grades at the same elementary school in Boston area. If you ask me which grade is my favorite, I'll say the "one I'm teaching now!" But I must admit that that I find something incredibly satisfying about teaching 1st grade because of the tremendous learning leaps made by first graders from September to June -- its' the BIG PAY-OFF!
